Hot Chai Fusion Cafe
A welcome addition to the Hawthorne complex, Hot Chai offers a fantastic selection of drinks, coffee, teas, soda and most importantly bubble tea. A great selection of sandwiches and an Asian appies but tons of curries, noodle dishes, stir fries and soups. The owners are from China and describe their food as Asian Fusion. There’s definitely something on the menu for everyone’s taste.

This restaurant was such a welcome surprise on a Sunday afternoon. First of all they were open (which can sometimes be challenging on a Sunday afternoon in Nanaimo) but the food was excellent. My husband and I shared a HUGE bowl of their House Won-ton soup with the largest wonton’s I’ve ever seen in my life PLUS they had a whole prawn inside. Lots of veggies etc as well. In addition we shared a Teriyaki Chicken Panini which was also large and delicious.
I’m looking forward to going back for their curries and noodle dishes.
This restaurant/cafe is so perfect for that area of Nanaimo.
I absolutely LOVE hot chai!! It’s my favourite place in Nanaimo! They have delicious food, amazing customer services, and tasty drinks!! It’s such a welcoming cafe and great dining experience. I would highly recommend it!!
